Child Safety Week concludes everywhere else except at Girard Ford!

Alarming statistics that state 4 children less than 14 years of age were killed every day in 2008 due to motor accidents surely ring a warning bell. Securing our children is a simple process, but its neglect can prove extremely costly. The National Child Passenger Safety Week by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) that concluded on the 18th of September helped generate awareness about the simple measures that can secure our children.

During the Child Passenger Safety Week that took place between September 12 to 18, parents and caretakers got their child safety seats checked, for which purpose thousands of free safety seat inspection stations were set up across the country. English- and Spanish-speaking child passenger safety technicians answered questions and ensured the proper installation of child safety seats.

The following insights further strengthen the importance of Child safety seats:
  • Child safety seats reduce the risk of death in car crashes by 71% for infants and 54% for toddlers ages one to four.
  • For children ages 4 to 7, booster seats reduce injury risk by 59% compared to safety belts alone.

Girard Ford, the premier Ford dealer in the Middletown area, CT, congratulates the NHTSA for this wonderful initiative. Girard Ford will take this initiative beyond this week, and will continue to educate people in the Norwich, Middletown, Preston area about the importance of child safety seats.
