WCTY-UW-TVCCA Food Drive
'Tis the season for giving, and what better way than to join with United Way and TVCCA for the annual Food Drive! Our total this year for the WCTY-UW-TVCCA food drive was 8,480 pounds of food; the equivalent of 7,067 meals. We increased our poundage this year by 643 pounds, and we couldn't have done it without the help of our community. Thank you everyone for your support, and we look forward to seeing you all again next year!
Howl-O-Ween Adoption Event
We had such an amazing time at the Howl-O-Ween Adoption Event in collaboration with All Paws on Deck, Bomba Radio, and a wonderful selection of dogs and puppies eagerly seeking their forever homes! We are thrilled to announce that 4 dogs found their families, and more are on the way! There was delicious pizza provided by Engine No 6 Pizza Company, and great live music from Bomba Radio! Thank you all for coming out to our Howl-O-Ween Adoption Event and we look forward to seeing you all again soon!
19th Annual Local 892 Golf Tournament
Girard Ford was the major sponsor for the 19th Annual Local 892 Golf Tournament. The tournament proceeds benefit a fund for members of Norwich Firefighters Local 892 and their immediate families in case of tragic accident or illness.

97.7 WCTYs 23rd Annual Food Drive
97.7 WCTYs 23rd Annual Food Drive was held at Shoprite in Norwich the first weekend in November. Girard Ford was happy to present at the drive and support the United Way of Southeastern CT, TVCCA and the local community. Thank you all who donated!
CT PGA Pro-Veteran Golf Tournament
Girard Ford in partnership with Mohegan Sun, supplied the Hole-In-One vehicle for the CT PGA Pro-Veteran Golf Tournament at Mohegan Sun Golf Course on Wednesday Oct 19th. Although nobody won the vehicle, it was a great day that benefited both Veterans and PGA Professionals of CT.
97.7 WCTY 22nd Annual Food Drive presented by Girard Ford
97.7 WCTY held their 22nd Annual Food Drive the first weekend of November. Big Y World Class Market in Norwich was kind enough to allow them to use their parking lot again this year. WCTY collected over 9500 lbs and over $7000 in cash and gift cards to benefit the United Way of Southeastern Connecticut and TVCCA - Thames Valley Council for Community Action. Thank you to all who donated!
Steam Sanitizing Vehicles
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Girard Ford wanted to help out the community by performing a complimentary steam sanitizing to everyone’s vehicle. This process helped kill bacteria, eliminate odors, and reduced allergens. And as a thank you to those keeping us safe, we performed this steam sanitizing on the Town of Groton and City of Groton’s police cruisers.

97.7 WCTY’s Annual Food Drive was held at Big Y World Class Market in Norwich and presented by Girard Ford! Over 11,400 pounds of food including 276 turkeys and thousands of dollars in donations were collected for the United Way of Southeastern Connecticut and TVCCA - Thames Valley Council for Community Action. Thank you to all the amazing WCTY listeners, volunteers and sponsors!
Military Community Support Award
At the 10th Annual Military Appreciation Breakfast Chris Antonino (far left) accepted the Military Community Support Award (large business category) for the Antonino Auto Group.
“We spent this morning saying a much-deserved 'thank you' to our local military service members at our 10th Annual Military Appreciation Breakfast. Through the support of our sponsors, General Dynamics Electric Boat, Dunkin', and Foxwoods, we invited over 140 active duty members as our special guests. Eastern Connecticut and our entire country are made stronger by the bravery and sacrifice of these men and women and their families. We also presented the Military Community Support Awards to Antonino Auto Group (large business category) and Cardinal Honda (small business category).”- The Chamber of Commerce of Eastern Connecticut
Donation to the USCG South Eastern CPOA
Antonino Auto Group Owners, John and Charles Antonino, visited the Southeast CT CPOA Pantry for the official check presentation of a $30,000 donation to the USCG Southeastern Connecticut CPOA. Thank you to everyone who volunteers their time to run the Southeast CT CPOA Pantry. The pantry accepts donations of non-perishable food items, toiletries, diapers and pet supplies. We'd also like to thank Senator Murphy for attending.
